Give Grief Hope 2018!

It is my honor to KICK OFF our 2nd Annual GIVE GRIEF HOPE campaign!

This morning, I’d love to share a little bit about how we got here...

A little over 3 years ago Clinical Director, Liz Dreibelbis and I were introduced by a mutual friend. Liz and I both have several years of experience supporting grieving children & families.  We became friends and soon colleagues as it became clear that we were the ones to fill a gap in grief services in Chester County.

Fast forward to today - we have partnered with schools to support students who have experienced death, have supported churches when grief hits close to home, we have held family nights where we focus on exploring grief and feelings as a family unit as well as death specific groups such as parent/spousal loss groups. We’ve learned that anger is okay, that gratitude can prevent fear, that crying in front of your kids is okay, that there are other kids walking a similar road and that having a plan for Father’s Day just might be what you need to do to make it through the day. Our families support one another, listen to one another, love each other’s kids and laugh with one another as the kids try to teach the adults new dance moves.

I’m writing this today because A Haven is at a crossroad and we need your support. We are growing and we need more space - space that feels like a haven to families. Over the last year our friends at Family Lives on Foundation allowed us to use their space for our groups. The truth is we just don’t fit anymore and we need our own space to create the safety, privacy and comfort our families deserve - a refuge that our name exemplifies.

Will you join us to make this next step happen? Here are 3 ways you can help:

We look forward to continuing to serve grieving families in and around Chester County. Thank you for welcoming us and for all your support. We are just getting started.

Kindly,

Michelle Noble
